Recent news about Denture Adhesives
As a precautionary measure the manufacture of Super Poligrip ‘Original’, Ultra Fresh and Extra Care has been stopped due to possible health risk with excessive, long term use. It is suggested that excessive use of the products, over several years, may increase levels of zinc in the blood.
According to the company, patients who have used the products according to instructions may continue to do so safely. It is to be applied only once a day. A typical 2.4 oz tube should last 8-10 weeks. Patients who had higher levels of zinc, applied the product more frequently. If you have been a long time user, used the product in excess, or are concerned about your health please consult your physician.
A zinc free alternative is Super Poligrip ‘Free’, ‘Comfort Seal Strips’ or ‘Powder’. -The company expects to supply new zinc free products by late March or early April.

Eligibility
Parents of uninsured children who are not covered by Medicaid can apply for dental benefits through MIChild. The program is open to Michigan residents who meet income requirement and a few other things . Applications can be filed at any time, and eligibility generally begins the first day of the month following acceptance. Applications and detailed requirements are available on the MDCH Web site or by calling (888) 988-6300.
